first of all, thanks for being here
I’ve put off creating a Substack for many years—or any kind of blog since the LiveJournal I had when I was 15. What a shitshow that was. I tried TinyLetter a while back (which is how some of you got here!) and got around to just one newsletter, I think.
For some reason, the stakes feel so high.
Maybe following through here will help me to dismantle whatever internalized blockage I’ve come up with as a reason to not divulge, interact, explore, excavate, and get low to the ground with y’all. Social media has been a weird beast for me (not a unique experience, obviously), and I think it’s contributed to some of the ways I’ve learned to go in and out of my body like a fish, slippery and challenged by gravity.
I went to a reading tonight with Padraig O Tuama in dialogue with Marie Howe, and there were nearly 1,000 people in attendance. I almost didn’t hit send on this little email, but if Padraig can talk about god and hares and Persephone and gay sex in front of a thousand people, I can send an email to 50.
Anyway, thanks for being here and for traversing this new richness of communicating that we’re all exploring together—the migration from socials as we’ve built them into, toward something else entirely. A brand new, brave new, curious new thing, I suppose. I hope the moment you read this little message is also a moment in your life that feels easeful, tender, and possible.

this is where I will announce upcoming events, probably
like a love letter workshop, date TBD, happening in Portland in March with the Rainbow Arts Collective
and other workshops, love letter, poetry, and gossip alike, that I’m in the works of having enough stamina to plan
and the Postcard Poetry Project, which is coming up soon! (it happens at the start of every month—it feels like it’s always coming up soon)
and this is where I’ll put the poems I’m reading right now, probably
which will most likely be links, like this one, “You Can Take Off Your Sweater, I’ve Made Today Warm” by Paige Lewis, which I’ve been returning to a lot
and this one, by Linda Gregg, which I haven’t found a link to:
"Of Absence" I climb the mountain up steps the moon has already taken. Of absence. Of things broken. To see if the moon is a mouth. To see if I am what it wants.
and this is where I will remind you about Crow Club, Little Crow, and Crow’s Nest
which are my sliding scale tiered membership subscriptions in which you sign up and I in return send you magic in the mail each month

Little Crow | the lowest scaled tier | a small offering, having consisted in the past of little treats like bookmarks, letterpress greeting cards, Bread & Puppet prints, poems, seeds, recipes, and many others little gifts I’ve dreamt up
Crow’s Nest | the mid scaled tier | for my crafters, DIYers, and dreamers, an offering of personalized goodies like postcards, stickers, textured paper, lace, doilies, bookmarks, and more (do you love birds, snail mail, and the color red? tell me and I’ll keep that in mind every single month)
Crow Club | the highest scaled tier | a larger offering of both an herbal ware made for you each month, such as wildflower sugars, herbal teas, smoke cleansing bundles and loose leaf incense, herbal bath salt blends, botanical glycerites, and more, and a Little Crow offering

and the rest… well, we’ll just have to see
